Hi, Birdies! Me again, your friendly neighborhood content writer. Have you ever bought something to drink from Starbucks? I can hear that you say yes. Well, did they ever write your name wrong on the cup? Probably. Then hold tight because this might sound crazy; that's Starbucks' marketing strategy!
It is a claim made by a YouTube channel named “Super Deluxe”. This theory is based on the idea that Starbucks' marketing strategy is to intentionally write your name wrong.

It is not that crazy if you think about it. Remember that you see the people who posted on social media that their names on cups are misspelled. You knew that the coffee was bought from Starbucks right? There are a lot of people doing it and statistics show that these photos have the most views among the other posts. The shocking thing is all these photos include the Starbucks logo in common. Is it a coincidence? There is some evidence indicating it is not.

Although there isn’t any official statement from Starbucks, confessions of some baristas confirm that the theory is true. After all, are there any interesting sides to spelling names correctly? A Starbucks employee says there isn’t and writing names wrong on cups is an advertisement strategy. Moreover, this strategy has no financial cost for the company. Brilliant right?

Even though it seems like a theory at first, numbers show that it is a successful advertisement strategy and working very well on Starbucks’ customer base.
Until next week... Keep flapping👋🏻
